Transformation
Although it is difficult to know what is healthy it is not impossible. Here are some examples to ask yourself. Is sushi healthy? Hmm well what about sushi calories did you think of that? In order for some of you to transform your eating habits completely, you do not have to start out with a 100% raw diet. You can start to mix in some natural alternatives to the foods you usually eat (such as organic raw peanut butter and not regular peanut butter). You can also start buying all organic, try to stay away from cows milk, make sure you are getting plenty of fresh fruits and vegetable and only drink water and you will have significantly changed your life already!
Trying to change over to all raw food right away might be hard on some people because of their personal preferences. Also, when you try to change over to raw food, your body may begin to detox on its own within a day or two. This change over and making sure to do so gradually would be best so that the body will not have to go through a detox that can be very hard at the beginning.
A popular method that is often used is six days on, one day off which seems to work because your body can compare food tastes. After awhile, the body would choose what was healthy over the unhealthy, allowing the detox to continue on its own with out so much stress. This feeling of well-being that you will feel during the six days will still desired on the seventh day. Contrasts between the different food types and how they tastes will be noted, and personal preferences could win for that one-day. But eventually, the non-cooked food won out.
A second method used was to eat raw food “cold turkey” for two weeks straight which is much tougher and requires a little more dedication and determination but has excellent results. By the end of the two-week period, make a list to see what was enjoyed most … the processed food or the raw vegetables. At first, the desire for processed food will still be there but over time, it will lose its appeal. By the end of the month, the feeling of “well-being” due to eating raw foods will win over the taste of cooked and processed foods everytime.
Keep in mind that you do not have to incorporate a full 100% raw food diet forever! You can eat raw foods 80% of the time, for instance, perhaps up until dinnertime, then go cooked for dinner. Just eating more fruits and veggies alone will change your health drastically.
